Happy birthday, Beth! --terri (talk) 18:22, April 8, 2008 (AKDT)

Beth you brought tears to my eyes

And, heck, I've now had people who I met in chat come see me play live, and if that's not WWR supporting independent artists, I'm not sure what is. Without chat that probably wouldn't have happened. E.D. Egg (talk) 14:49, May 8, 2008 (AKDT)

In Singapore in October?

Reuben: I just found out that I'm going to be coming to Singapore in mid-October (to speak at a conference on shipping registries, of all things). Will you be there then? E.D. Egg (talk) 13:22, May 16, 2008 (AKDT)

Unfortunately I study in Adelaide in the second half of the year so I won't be there. If I can be of any help though feel free to ask! Ruben (talk) 02:22, May 18, 2008 (AKDT)

Topic of the day

Hey LuAnna; I tagged you for tomorrow's question of the day. I wasn't sure if you'd done it yet . . . if you have, let me know and I'll tag someone else. E.D. Egg (talk) 05:12, June 5, 2008 (AKDT)

...actually I just did it Sunday.. the one about what talent would you like to have that you don't have was mine.. it would be nice to give it to someone else. Thanks for thinking of me, though! LuAnna (talk) 06:03, June 5, 2008 (AKDT)

Question of the Day

Jim: Interested in doing it tomorrow? I initially tagged LuAnna, not realizing that she did it recently, and I'm drawing a blank at corralling a regular who hasn't already done it. E.D. Egg (talk) 07:51, June 5, 2008 (AKDT)

Absolutely! Jim (talk) 07:53, June 5, 2008 (AKDT)

New Music

Oh, while I'm here: is there still new music you've received that's not yet been added? I bugged Lucy Wainwright Roche (who I've absolutely fallen for) to send her stuff to WWR the first time I saw her play; when I saw her again a week or two ago she told me she had sent it, but it hasn't shown up yet. Despite famous relatives, she's about as indie as they come, currently. E.D. Egg (talk) 08:06, June 5, 2008 (AKDT)

Er, glad you asked. Because I would personally be very excited to hear her music. And, to the best of my knowledge, it has not shown up yet. My intake system is pretty organized (i.e. all the incoming CDs stay in one place, not strewn all over the place) but with my recent absence and the amount of people who were coming by and picking up mail etc. it is possible it was misplaced. I've also heard a fair number of stories where artist tells publicist/agent to send CDs and it never happens. I've also heard where people said "Send it to Talkeetna" and they accidentally sent it to the local NPR station instead of us. Our mail service here is excellent so it's unlikely lost in the mail. Sooooo...all I'd say is ask her to please send again. (I always hesitate with that request because I know firsthand, as do you, that CDs don't manufacture themselves magically for free.) If she did send previously and that one shows up, assure her that it will eventually find a kind and worthy home. And thanks!

Hi Ms.Egg,.. I found out about your connection to Waterville, Me. about the time you left for the festival and I went home for the day. Mainer moved there shortly after I stopped showing up there regularly. He and I have written on each others talk pages. Just curious about when you were located there. Same disclaimer,... if you consider this private,.. no offense taken at a non-response. Image:Blush.gif Sooooooooooooo,.... Sorry forgot the Doctordoug (talk/contribs) 11:00, July 29, 2008 (AKDT)

Later than the start of Mainers stint,.. I was hoping one or both of you might remember a fellow that used to swing through there playing in bars. John Danderand (sp?) wa his name. I think he was from from Mass. He played a cello mandolin, a dulcimer, and an incredible Froggy Bottom guitar. Doctordoug (talk/contribs) 11:03, July 29, 2008 (AKDT)

Hi E.D. Egg! I just wanted to say that I enjoy your presence here at WWR and enjoy your music as well. I've become a bit "chat-shy" in recent months, but listen most weekdays from work (the company firewall blocks my "presence" in the listener list though). I've never been much of a folk fan until I discovered WWR, but have certainly expanded my musical horizons the last few years, thanks to Jim, Esther, and wonderful folks like you! I accept the challenge for the topic of the day,.. As tomorrow is my first day (recently) of being unemployed I may not get the topic here real early. But thanks for the opportunity. Doctordoug (talk/contribs) 04:53, July 31, 2008 (AKDT)
