Hi ! Thanks for stopping by.
WWR is such a pleasant place. I am glad to have found so much delightful music. I would like to thank everyone who has requesting jazz and blues songs. Good stuff!
About Me
Learn about my name on wikipedia [1] here. Denali is an Athabascan name. It is a special name. I am Alaskan by birth and live in a mid-century cottage in the city of Fairbanks, Alaska with a husband who appreciates WWR humor.
My first computer was a [2] TI-99/4. I have a big guard dog. Real big one. My husband and I rescued her from the local animal shelter.

Alaska
Fairbanks is 273 miles north of Talkeetna by road. I love Alaska so much I wish I could see it all. It's natural beauty is just stupefying.
Recently I found a series of videos [3] [4] [5] about erosion problems faced by the residents of Shismaref, Alaska.
My Attempt at WWR Humor
Polar History
I'm on a tear of reading books about historic polar explorations. The University of Alaska Fairbanks has a nice Alaska and Polar Region department [6]. It's a great resource. There is a film and audio archive too. The late Dr. Richard Pierce got me started on this whole thing so many years ago. Some of the audio resources are online at Project Jukebox [7]. Anyway, below are the books I've been reading.
- Georg Wilhelm Steller's[8] accounts of Bering's[9] explorations. The Bering explorations got me hooked.
- USGS Bulletins written by Prindle on interior Alaska. It makes me want to go see Prindle Volcano.
- Harriman Alaska and Russian Far East expeditions.
Following that was a multimedia study of coldwar militarization of the arctic.
- Schwatka[10]
- Willem Barents[11]
- Shackleton [14] exploration of Antarctica.
Gardening
I'm a sub-arctic, urban gardener. I am a sucker for mail-order seed catalogs. I grow organic, non-GMO vegetables, Alaskan native plants, and flowers from seed. I love to eat fresh vegetables!
