Hello and thanks for visiting my user page.
--Here are some random things about me I thought you might like to know--
- I'm Alaskan and love talking about it. Really, ask me questions about stuff. I also really like movies and discussing them. I also garden some and enjoy that immensely.
- Tea or Coffee? Both, but individually. Sometimes, I like to enjoy the rant with a hot cup of tea. Actually, I don't drink much coffee. I drink mostly cappuccinos. Plain coffee is for pussies. I shoot doppio by the mug! Seriously though, I recently learned I am a Celiac or Coeliac, depending on where you're at. It's kind of freaky and I don't know much about how to make really good gluten-free "munchies".
- My writer's block is solved. Kinda.
- I totally miss Nengaku's Hermitage blog. I found his blog a while back on Jim's wwr blog and just love it to bits. He recently stopped blogging and I miss it. What a guy! His dog has a helper dog!!!! They are so cute :)))))))

Brian and I traveled across Alaska to celebrate our anniversary and birthdays, and visited wwr. Naturally, Esther had to hustle us on Scrabble. I unexpectedly ended up on air while having morning cappuccinos. The dark photo is a quiet moment at wwr.

On the 14th of July Brian and I started our rally across the great land. Woohoo! After listening to Fireball's "Honeymoon in Tok" song, I remembered how much I like the upper Tanana region and wanted to go out there for my wedding anniversary. Then Brian suggested why not just drive across Alaska in a big loop? I was totally down with that. We got about 35 mpg in a loaded '84 Porsche 944.
Back from the rally, had a great time at Tok, Matanuska Glacier and then at the wheat palace with Jim & Esther & Beta. Had lots of fun making Sumatran bean cappuccinos and unexpectedly getting on air. Forgot to pack the top of the tent, but it was all good. It rained throughout the western leg of our trip so I didn't get any good mountain shots of Denali. Here's a slide show of our trip. The music is Brian's.
Now in early August, we are planning another camping trip in the countryside by the Tatalina. No, not the Tatalina you might have heard of that's by McGrath - the other one - the one by nothing. The closest place is Joy, Alaska. Maybe that doesn't ring a bell either. We'll have to use the truck on this trip.
Test-drive of the truck ended poorly; ahm, truck's got some leaks. I hope I don't end up hitchin up there, LOL. Seriously though, I really want to get out there before freeze-up and it's hardly a place for a sedan. I've got wanderlust again.
