I am from Lloydminster, Saskatchewan and have been checking out WWR since 2004. I have been a radio broadcaster since 1980 and am currently the morning news presenter at Lloyd FM in Lloydminster Alberta/Saskatchewan. (Canada's only border city)
One evening I was doing a search for things related to "Northern Exposure" and Talkeetna came up as a community which is compared to the fictional Cicely, Alaska.
- According to Wikipedia, the first season of Northern Exposure was released on May 25, 2004. It was available in Canada about a month later.
- After that purchase I started doing internet searches on the show and the actors which led me to finding Whole Wheat Radio.
- For the first 18 months or so I was an occasional listener, and first checked into the "chat room" during the spring of 2006, in the pre-wiki days. I was experimenting with various versions of Linux and would sometimes go weeks or months without any audio on my computers.

I have to say I'm glad the summer is over and fall has started. It is awfully quiet around the neighbourhood with the song birds gone south but I look forward to colder weather.
