Browsing

Keyboard shortcuts

This software supports shortcut keys that correspond to the tabs at the top of a page. For example use Alt+E to edit a page. You can also press Alt+. (Alt period) to jump to your User page. (On Mac use the Ctrl key.)

Looking behind the scenes

The nice thing about this software is that it doesn't hide much from users. For example, if you're looking at someone's User page and see something that looks interesting, just click the Edit link (at the top of the page in most skins) and you can see how it was done — and maybe even snag a copy for your own User page. That sort of "borrowing" is perfectly acceptable.

Commenting on a page

As you explore the WWR site, you may find something that you'd like to comment on. Notice that most of the pages have a "talk" or "discussion" link. You can click that tab and enter your comment.

  • If the talk tab is red, then it contains no comments, and you will be the first person to add a comment.
  • If the talk tab is blue, then at least one comment has already been entered.

Handheld browsing

For browsing with a handheld or small montitor try using the "MySkin" skin (Change skin here).

Editing

Any page as a template

Any page, it doesn't need to be in the Template namespace, can be inserted into a page as a template by using the template markup and putting a colon (:) before the name.
