Xingu was a jazz-rock-psychedelic-fusion band that formed in Tallahassee, Florida, with Chelsea Luker fronting the band on lead vocals, sax and flute. In 2004, shortly after the release of their first and only CD, Xinguism, Chelsea's day job transferred her to Portland, Oregon. The other band members refused to move with her and Xingu was no more. However, her boyfriend Rob Sipsky, who accompanied her to Portland, reformed his band Mars Retrieval Unit there, with Chelsea.
When they were in Tallahassee, Rob and Chelsea lived in a unique pyramid house not far away..
