Mark Ferrie is a singer/songwriter from Melbourne, Australia. Some people say he sounds like Lou Reed, but this isn't intentional. As a bass player, Mark gained fame in the Models, notoriety in the Sacred Cowboys and hearty slaps on the back for his work in Truckasaurus, the Real McCoys and numerous other Melbourne bands. Mark still plays bass for worthy projects such as The Renovators, Stephen Cummings Lovetown and the house band on SBS TV's RocKwiz.
In 1991 Mark travelled for six months in the USA. His experiences there compelled him to start writing and performing in a more personal mode. The result was his first solo album Actual Reality, released in 1994.
Settling back into Melbourne, Mark continued writing and performing his songs, this time with a more local focus. This was reflected in his second solo album, Nuts and Bolts, released in 1997.
In 2000 Mark began performing his songs in a two guitar duo format, eventually hooking up with his old pal, Andrew Pendlebury. Together they recorded Late Night at the Nicholas Building(2003), a collection of Mark's bluesy originals and Andrew's moody instrumental pieces..
